In the shade of my mind I've wandered far and wide And there In the twilight is where I drift away And I recall the tale of a morning said to come To flood this world of gloom In a golden dawn Morn morn O morn when will you return? And out from the dark a moth had flown before he too recalled the songs Of a distant dawn ‘Hark here, listen rest your fear lift your head from your hands and follow as I fly For we will surely find our own light’ The morn’ has ceased to come So we will flee in search of that glint of dusk And gather whatever’s left of you And take to the sky though it may be dark In sought we will fly I’ll never wait for the morn again To bring the light of day I’ll find my own light! I’ll find my own way! With every day spent dwelling in the dark This skin around me has grown so coarse And I wore it to ward off whatever it may be That stalks and preys upon the lost and the weak But the longer I sit and dwell within this shell I realize what haunts me has been here on the inside And that is where I learned to cast it all way And we will shed this molting skin And spread these wings for the first time With every fall we will learn to fly higher and higher As we drift on into the dusk The morn’ has ceased to come so we will flee in search of that glint of dusk And gather whatever’s left of you and take to the sky though it may be dark In sought we will fly I’ll never wait for the morn’ again to bring the light of day I’ll find my own light!
