I the autumn king rise with the fall of leaf draped in auburn reverie this season is mine to cease I loom the leaves into a great wide weave to blanket this forest floor 'fore the great white sleep (Damian Winter) With every gust that blows I'll sting like the chill of night hide somewhere safe hide somewhere warm tonight Here in this time of dying But rung out a song full of life ricocheting from tree to tree until it found its way to me I'd only ever heard the echoes of her song and rumors of gossip from the mouths of the trees O she who raises life from the earth O spring, my queen Could life and death truly meet somewhere in between? Abdication I call on thee come and lay your claim on me (Damian Winter) Autumn, return! your throne must be adorned I know you yearn to see that world free of death but cycles of solstice must endure Return! Return! Return! When winter comes sweeping the leaves away I'll sneak my way through to the other side of spring like a leaf to a gust of wind I, the abrogate now trudge my way through the sleet I'll see you soon I swear it true Spring, my queen Let the thought of spring only guide you through this winter I defy

I've seen you here before and as I recall, the dreams we had walked but can you recall them too? Each time she wore a different face a different form but I knew her all the same just out of reach I tremble before her as she holds herself as a statue But then she smiles and this world of death flourishes She'll always be there dancing through the gale singing songs of life and fertility Yet she will always be only in the dream plagued with death and uncertainty She guides these weary hands deeper into this dream and she dances off singing wait here for me I remember I had stared into those two deep weeping emerald pools And the moment I had said this is a dream and you would never be real And in the moments you sang it was beautiful But you will always be waiting there in the still as I have waited here in the wake I tremble before her as she holds herself as a statue Looming a lifeless gaze But then she smiles and this world of death flourishes She'll always be there dancing through the gale singing songs of life and fertility Yet she will always be only in the dream plagued with death and uncertainty She guides these weary hands deeper into this dream and she dances off singing wait here for me But I have waited and wilted a thousand times Yet I grow older and over (Mordleif on Violin) And maybe this was to save me or you But now I bind you further with every wrap of this yarn so stay here in the wake with me so stay here in the wake and sing for me Let your songs go echoing on

Rosenrot 04:26
Sah ein Mädchen ein Röslein stehen Blühte dort in lichten Höhen So sprach sie ihren Liebsten an Ob er es ihr steigen kann [A girl saw a little rose blooming there in highest heights She asked her lover if he'd climb up there for her] Sie will es und so ist es fein So war es und so wird es immer sein Sie will es und so ist es Brauch Was sie will, bekommt sie auch [She had a want and that is fine So it was and will always be She had desire and that's her wish What she wants will become hers] Tiefe Brunnen muss man graben Wenn man klares Wasser will Rosenrot, oh Rosenrot Tiefe Wasser sind nicht still [Deep wells must be dug if you want waters clear Rose-red, oh Rose-red Deep waters don't stand still] Der Jüngling steigt den Berg mit Qual Die Aussicht ist ihm sehr egal Hat das Röslein nur im Sinn Bringt es seiner Liebsten hin [The boy climbs the mountain in agony He doesn't care whats up there to see the little rose weighs his mind he'll bring it to his beloved one] Sie will es und so ist es fein So war es und so wird es immer sein Sie will es und so ist es Brauch Was sie will, bekommt sie auch [She had a want and that is fine So it was and will always be She had desire and that's her wish What she wants will become hers] Tiefe Brunnen muss man graben Wenn man klares Wasser will Rosenrot, oh Rosenrot Tiefe Wasser sind nicht still [Deep wells must be dug if you want waters clear Rose-red, oh Rose-red Deep waters don't stand still] An seinen Stiefeln bricht ein Stein Will nicht mehr am Felsen sein Und ein Schrei tut jedem kund Beide fallen in den Grund [At his boots, a stone has fell along with his will to be up there And a cry will let them know Both have fallen to the ground] Sie will es und so ist es fein So war es und so wird es immer sein Sie will es und so ist es Brauch Was sie will, bekommt sie auch [She had a want and that is fine So it was and will always be She had desire and that's her wish What she wants will become hers] Tiefe Brunnen muss man graben, Wenn man klares Wasser will Rosenrot, oh Rosenrot Tiefe Wasser sind nicht still [Deep wells must be dug if you want waters clear Rose-red, oh Rose-red Deep waters don't stand still]

Everbloom 06:57
Once we strode through old forest, overgrown it was there I learned a wisdom hidden in that wood On oaken grain you showed where I could carve my name next to yours there in the bark of a kindred tree And when we left I felt that age taking hold even as you fell still you found the strength to stand again Spring! My queen! I beg you bring them back again for I would wait a thousand years just to see your meadows flow with the wind And I'll claw the leaves from these trees to coerce the winter Into spring I'll see it through that this forest sings and your meadows swing in full bloom Spring! My queen! I feel your heart begin to beat for I would wait a thousand years just to hear you sing again Penance! Penance! I'll pay to you my penance true for I will shed my weight in tears to let those graveside flowers bloom Now that you're gone I'll sing your song atop aching lungs I'll declare it loud as it can be to share your grace and salubrity O be this the death of the bitterness that has lived within me And I have found the meaning in death again as I watched a life full of virtue and nurturing, unfold into a fairy tale Your story only deserves a beautiful end Spring! My queen! I feel your heart begin to beat for I would wait a thousand years just to hear you sing again Penance! (Spring!) Penance! (My queen!) I'll pay to you my penance true (I feel your heart begin to beat) For I would shed my weight in tears (For I would wait a thousand years) To let those graveside flowers bloom (Just to hear you sing again)

about

This is an old tale retold. In entry II, we find a being known as Aldersop waking up in a dark wood. He wanders into a disheveled cottage seeking respite and lays down on a patch of grass inside it. As he lay there his body drifts off to sleep, yet he is completely coherent. This is when he begins to notice a strange sensation- something rustling around in his hair. Then a soft voice, and eventually a familiar presence.

At least, that was the story as it were. Throughout the course of recent ages, I have regained small fragments of memories that now form a collective. I can recall my first death, stumbling into those spore-ridden woods - and then waking up only to find myself in another dimly lit world. When I lay there in that cottage, she visited me while my body was paralyzed. I never even saw her face - yet her presence was eminently familiar. Something I can only describe as the smell of rain and the sound of birds.

She placed a dream in my head, things she'd seen and worlds she'd created. Endless gardens bursting with flowers and an abundance of fruits. We walked there for many ages and that gap between life and death did not seem far anymore. I forgot my true nature in that dream, I quelled the only name I knew. I shed myself of the title of Autumn. Yet all of these things could not change the fact that everything I touch will die.

When I awoke... I felt such grief and loss coming to terms that it was only a dream. This is when I fell into such darkness. I swore to myself that I would see her again. Even if it meant breaking The Wheel of Seasons to cross into the jurisdiction of winter. So I may find my way to spring...

I Aldersop, The Autumn King, am dead.
